Gainesville Modern’s Drinks and Dwellings: A Night of Music and Memories. Celebrating the architecture of Alfred Browning Parker.
Rock Around the Clock: An exciting night of mid-mod music at the amazing Tench House. This beautiful mid-century modern home was designed by Alfred Browning Parker for Judge Tench. His son, Benmont Tench practiced with his band at the house to go on to become Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. The night will include a full bar with signature cocktails, catered hors d’oeuvres and a live DJ to celebrate an array of music across the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. Friday, November 17th from 6 to 9 PM.



The VIP Ticket gives you access to the premiere screening of the documentary Perfect House, Magic City: The World of Alfred Browning Parker. The screening will be the Alachua County debut of the film with special guest and filmmaker Holly du Rivage. Limited seating. Hippodrome Theatre, 25 SE Second Place, Gainesville, FL. Thursday, November 16th from 5:30 to 8 PM. Cash bar. Screening tickets are not sold separately.

About Alfred Browning Parker: Graduate of the University of Florida Architecture Program. He went on to design over 500 projects around the Miami area. His notable works include his personal residences on Royal Road and Gable Estates as well as the home called Woodsong. Parker was published in numerous magazines and publications. He was also a Professor Emeritus of the University of Florida School of Architecture. Upon his death, the New York Times called him the Frank Lloyd Wright of Miami.
About Holly du Rivage: Holly du Rivage was born in New York City. She grew up on Long Island in a home designed by Alfred Browning Parker. An active filmmaker since 1990, Holly has presented work at The Metropolitan Museum, the Museum of Modern Art, The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, as well as numerous national and international film festivals.
